Three years away from CZ, and this year I go there three times, to make up.

In MAY I'm there with Eun Jung, I'd been promising her for years we'd go so finally we do. It's so the same in many ways, and we just get pissed every night for our six or whatever nights. In the beginning this was brilliant, as we went around Zizkov, Vinohrady, Prague 1, 2 & 3, but in the end we were a mess and glad to leave, if just to get away from the pubs and almost free beer. Of all the loss-leaders a city can have, Prague goes for beer. You can drink it forever and in the end it costs the price of a pint in the UK. You don't complain, you just shut up and drink it.

In JULY I'm there for ten days on a holiday of two halves. First half there's eight of us from UK on a stag party for Toby Morgan. This was just messy and confined to Prague 1. We stayed on Spalena in a really nice hotel. Perfect in the beginning but on a grander scale than my earlier holiday that year it descended into a painful, snappy hangover. Second half that lot went home, and I went to Karlovy Vary to recover, drink water, eat fruit, and recover a bit. The International Film Festival was on, which was brilliant in fact, I really loved it, just watching loads of good films, right up my street. I stayed in a three bedroom apartment for about three or four pounds a night, having met this old lady in the street who fixed me up with that. There were loads of Russians there for some reason. Finally I'm back in Prague renting a flat in Zelivskeho. I hook up with Dan Freeland and Suzana Dudic for a nice weekend in Zizkov, about three quality nights out around there, and then home. Ten days...wasn't great, didn't suck.

In NOVEMBER we're there again again! Our excuse this time is Eun Jung's exhibition in a gallery in Prague 1. Went with Eun Jung, Juliette Mauve and Cassandra Rutledge. This was the holiday I wanted all along, just great. Five or six days, nice people, going around doing fun things, splitting into pairs for a day, back again all together for a day, seeing Jiri Stivin with Dan, drinking in U Botylku, going up to Novy Barrandov and Hlubocepy all us four, playing outdoor table tennis up in the hills there, walking around everywhere, we all loved it. Shame that one had to end, but it was such a perfect holiday I'd like to save the blueprint and re-use it. (Is that a bit I.T. of me?)
