Came in April for the usual route by now: a few days in Seoul, a week in Daegu, another few days in Seoul, go back home alone, leave Eun Jung with her family for a couple of months of "holiday from John"...
Korea seemed upbeat this time but I was slightly less attracted to the place this time. A little water had passed under the bridge and even though Daniel Hark had come back, it took this visit to notice this. Leaving this time I decided I wouldn't come back this year: why like? It all cost way too much money. I could be spending less and still going to say Vietnam. Or the States!
Anyway, always good to be on holiday, especially where you know the local people. This time I was an IT consultant back home, and had a few pennies to buy a few rounds of cocktails with, some shoes, a better class of everything, loads of Korean stuff and even a huge new suitcase to put it in. Hanging out with Yoon Eun-Jung in Seoul was a nice plus, and seeing all her Daegu folk again is always good.
Korea in 2000, we showed our faces and enjoyed the food. In Daegu we all had another look at each other. Went up a mountain or two, dossed around, no major stuff, just normal time. All nice but after I just had to check the old wallet and ask, what was that!
